Faster than a Speeding Bullet

spirituality Sep 01, 2019

What part of you is faster than a speeding bullet and generates more energy in one day than all the cells phones on the planet?

Did you guess correctly?

It is your brain that generates more energy (electrical impulses) in one day than all the cell phones on the planet.

You can learn to use this power to become the master of your life instead of a victim.

The Book of Romans 12:2 remind us, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Surprise!

Scientists now confirm what we have been teaching in our spirituality for thousands of years. That is, we are designed to rewire our brains by thinking and choosing to renew our minds. Our thoughts and choices impact our: physical brain, our body, our mental health, our spiritual development.

Not only that, but we have the ability to change or biology through our thinking. Our choices literally get “under the skin” of our DNA and can turn certain genes on and off. Our thinking can change things at every level within us: molecular, genetic, epigenetic, cellular, structural, neurochemical, electromagnetic, and even subatomic. Think about how this affects your potential to impact the health of your body through your thinking.

Capture rogue thoughts Rewire healthy new circuits

2Corinthians 10:5 advises us to, “Destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and to take every thought captive to obey Christ.”

When we observe our own thinking with a view to capturing rogue thoughts and replacing them with life-affirming thoughts; we direct our attention to stop the negative impact on our life and rewire healthy new circuits into our brain.

The moment we change our thoughts from:

  • sickness to health
  • anxiety to peace
  • lack to plenty
  • frustration to nonresistance
  • fear to faith
  • weakness to courage
  • despair to hope
  • doubt to trust

We open the way for the divine to rush in to begin a healing, restoring work.

Capturing rogue thoughts rather than letting them chaotically run rampant can bring about impressive changes in how we feel and think.  A mind filled with anxiety, worry, and fear, sends negative signals right down to the level of the DNA and produces mis-wiring which causes maladaptive, depressive, ruminations. This causes a decrease in the ability to solve problems and; we feel foggy, confused, negative, and depressed.

By contrast, purposefully catching our rogue thoughts controls the brains sensory processing, the brain’s rewiring, the neurotransmitters, genetic expression, and cellular activity. Thinking clearly about what supports your desired outcome helps unlearn, eliminate and neutralize non-supportive beliefs.

Trees blowing in the wind

We have all kinds of coordinated networks in our brains that work together forming a constant chatter in the non-conscious part of our mind. Dr. Caroline Leaf, neuroscientist, describes these networks as a grove of tall trees, with all the limbs and branches intertwined.  She says, “This is where we think, choose, build, and sort our thoughts.”

When the mind is thinking deeply in a quiet, restful state, the brain’s inner life becomes especially active. (Imagine a gentle wind blowing through the tops of the trees.) When we spend time in prayer; we enhance, improve, and accelerate our brain function. Thoughts that have been built up into negative perceptions by repetition can be broken up and eliminated.

Five to sixteen minutes is all you need

The simplest, most direct, most effective method to capture rogue thoughts is to withdraw the thoughts that have been feeding the negative effects and to let them shrivel away into nothing.

Five to sixteen minutes a day of focused, introspection and capturing of thoughts shifts the brain and increases a happier outlook on life.

Change your destiny

2 Timothy 1:7 confirms, “We do not have a spirit of fear, but of love, power and of a sound mind.”

The decisions we make today become part of the thought networks we build in our brain. We are not destined to live out negative patterns.

Today I invite you to refuse to let thoughts of worry, anxiety, or other distractions act in your mind. Little by little replace them with thoughts of love, trust, strength, joy, and faith until an inner feeling of peace is established. Build a “sound mind.”

Your “family of thoughts” create a predisposition not a destiny. You have the power within you to take dominion of your thoughts so you change and shape your destiny!
